YouTube TV is the better choice for most households. Its main plan lists at $82.99 a month against $88.99 for Fubo Pro, it has no separate regional sports fee, it carries all four major broadcast networks in most markets, and it is the only live TV service that sells NFL Sunday Ticket. Fubo wins for fans who follow a local NBA, NHL or MLB team, because it carries more regional sports networks, and it allows up to 10 screens at home without an add-on. Both include unlimited cloud DVR with recordings kept for 9 months.

Ratings and complaint records
Our score and sub-scores from each company's review, with the facts both reviews list.
Price: which is cheaper?
YouTube TV is cheaper for most people. Its main plan lists at $82.99 a month. Fubo Pro lists at $88.99, and in markets where Fubo carries a regional sports network it adds a regional sports fee on top. In the sample market we checked, that fee was $15.99, which put Pro at $104.98 and Elite at $114.98 before taxes. Enter your ZIP code at Fubo checkout to see your own total.
Both services run new customer offers in October 2026. YouTube TV lists $59.99 a month for the first 2 months of the main plan for new users, through Nov 16, 2026, then $82.99. Fubo lists $25 off the first month of Pro and $30 off Elite. Plan on the full price from month two or three.
If you mainly want sports and local channels, both now sell a smaller plan. YouTube TV launched genre plans in 2026, including a Sports plan at $64.99 and Sports + News at $71.99. Fubo Sports costs about $65 a month and includes the national sports networks plus local ABC, CBS, FOX and NBC affiliates where available. Fubo also lists a Spanish-language Latino plan at $19.99.
Add-ons change the math. 4K costs $9.99 a month on YouTube TV, while Fubo includes it on Elite at $98.99. YouTube TV’s offer terms say no refunds, and Fubo publishes no partial-month refund policy, so cancel shortly before your billing date.
Channels and local networks
Fubo shows more channels on paper: about 226 on Pro and 290 on Elite in the sample market we checked, against 100+ on YouTube TV’s main plan. Raw counts include many small and regional channels, so compare the networks you actually watch.
The bigger difference is local broadcast TV. YouTube TV carries ABC, CBS, FOX and NBC in most markets. Fubo carries ABC, CBS and FOX, but lists NBC only in select markets, even though NBCUniversal’s cable networks returned to Fubo after a carriage dispute. If you watch NBC prime time, Sunday Night Football or local NBC news, confirm your ZIP code on Fubo first or plan on an antenna.
Both services now include ESPN Unlimited access for subscribers. YouTube TV’s full Disney lineup, including ESPN, ABC, FX and National Geographic, returned on Nov 14, 2025 after a two-week blackout, under a multi-year deal. Disney also owns about 70% of Fubo after combining it with Hulu + Live TV in October 2025, so Disney channels are less likely to disappear there.
Both services have lost channels in fee disputes in the past two years. Carriage deals run for several years, but no service can promise a channel stays.
Sports: NFL Sunday Ticket, RedZone and local teams
This is the main reason people choose one over the other, and each wins a different part.
- NFL Sunday Ticket: only YouTube TV has it. For the 2026 season it costs $378 for existing YouTube TV members and $240 for eligible new subscribers, on top of the monthly plan. Fubo does not sell Sunday Ticket.
- NFL RedZone: both sell it in a Sports Plus add-on. Fubo lists Sports Plus with NFL RedZone at $10.99 a month; YouTube TV shows its price at checkout.
- Local NBA, NHL and MLB: Fubo carries more regional sports networks, which show games for teams in your area. In September 2026 it added a My Local Sports add-on so Fubo Sports subscribers can get networks such as NBC Sports regional channels, Marquee and MLB-produced team channels. Prices vary by ZIP code. YouTube TV carries fewer regional networks, so many local games are not on it.
- Soccer: Fubo has long focused on soccer channels and lists Premier League, Champions League and Ligue 1 coverage.
Regional rights changed in 2026 after the FanDuel Sports Network shut down and several MLB and NHL teams moved to league-produced channels. Look up your team on each service’s channel finder before you pay.
DVR, streams and 4K
DVR: a tie. Both include unlimited cloud DVR on every plan and keep recordings for up to 9 months. You can record several shows at once on both.
Streams: Fubo is more generous. Most Fubo plans allow up to 10 screens on your home internet plus 3 away from home, and a $9.99 Unlimited Screens add-on removes the limit. The Latino plan allows 2. YouTube TV allows 3 streams at once with up to 6 household accounts on one membership; the $9.99 4K Plus add-on lifts the limit to unlimited streams on your home network.
4K: Fubo includes 4K on Elite and Elite with Sports Plus. YouTube TV sells it as the 4K Plus add-on, which also adds offline downloads. Neither service shows every channel in 4K; it is mostly select live sports.
Multiview: both let you watch up to four streams on one screen on supported TVs, mostly for sports.
A large family that watches on several TVs at once gets more from Fubo’s screen limits. A household of two or three gets everything it needs from YouTube TV’s main plan.
Free trial, contracts and cancelling
Neither service has an annual contract. You can cancel either one online.
YouTube TV lists a 10-day free trial for new users on its plans page in October 2026. Its promo terms say no refunds, so a cancelled month runs to the end of the billing period.
Fubo offers free trials of up to 5 days on select plans, and says trials are not always available. Charges after a trial are one of the most common Fubo complaints, so set a reminder a day before the trial ends. Fubo also runs an offer with a free Apple TV 4K that requires you to keep the plan for a set number of months; cancel early and Fubo charges the device’s $129 list price.
Both services raise prices over time. YouTube TV’s main plan has more than doubled since launch, and Fubo’s list prices now start near $89 before fees. Check your bill every few months and compare it with the smaller sports or genre plans each now sells.
