If you only need a few seats, HubSpot's free CRM (2 users), Zoho CRM's free edition (3 users) and Salesforce's own Free Suite cost nothing. For paid plans, Zoho CRM ($14 a user billed yearly), Pipedrive ($14) and monday CRM ($12, 3-seat minimum) cost far less than Salesforce Starter Suite ($25) or Sales Cloud ($195 and up), and Microsoft Dynamics 365 Sales is the closest enterprise replacement. How we chose

We started from the complaint themes and comparison table in our Salesforce review and our Salesforce versus pages, then compared seven CRMs on entry price, free plan, free trial, seat minimums and contract or refund terms, using each company's pricing page checked October 12, 2026. Pipedrive's live pricing page blocked automated checks, so we used a September 2026 archived copy that matches our Pipedrive review. Microsoft Dynamics 365 Sales is included without a BestGuide review as the main enterprise alternative. The site orders picks by our star rating. We did not sign up for or test these products. Read our full methodology.

Why people look for Salesforce alternatives

Salesforce is the most customizable CRM here, but its reviews repeat five complaints:

  • High and rising cost. Sales Cloud editions run $195 to $550 a user a month billed yearly, and add-ons such as Agentforce for Sales (from $125) and Premier Success (30% of net license fees) cost extra. Look at: Zoho CRM, Pipedrive, monday CRM or Nutshell, all under $20 a seat to start.
  • Complex setup that often needs an admin or consultant. Look at: Pipedrive, Capsule or HubSpot Starter, which small teams set up themselves.
  • Slow or unhelpful support. Nutshell includes free live support on every plan.
  • Hard to cancel, with renewals billed after cancellation requests. Most Salesforce products use annual contracts. Look at: month-to-month billing, or Zoho CRM’s refund window.
  • Frequent logouts and sign-in friction. Test daily use during a trial before you commit.

Free options

  • Salesforce Free Suite. If cost is the only issue, Salesforce’s own Free Suite covers up to 2 users at $0, as long as someone logs in at least every 60 days.
  • HubSpot free CRM. Up to 2 users and 1,000 contacts, no expiration.
  • Zoho CRM free edition. Up to 3 users.
  • Capsule free plan. Up to 2 users and 250 contacts.
  • A shared spreadsheet. Enough for a solo seller with a handful of deals, though you lose reminders, email sync and reports.

What Salesforce alternatives cost

Entry prices per user a month, as listed October 2026 (Pipedrive as listed September 2026), before taxes and add-ons.

How to choose a Salesforce replacement

  1. List what you actually use. Custom objects, complex approvals and territory management narrow the field to Dynamics 365 or staying on Salesforce. Contacts, deals and email point to a simpler CRM.
  2. Check your renewal date first. Salesforce contracts are usually annual, so plan the switch to land at renewal.
  3. Count seats and minimums. monday CRM requires 3 seats; HubSpot Professional adds a $1,500 onboarding fee.
  4. Test the import. Run a trial with a real export of your accounts, contacts and open opportunities.
  5. Confirm integrations. Check that your email, calendar, phone and billing tools connect.

How to cancel Salesforce

  1. Find your order form. It sets your term, user count and renewal date. Salesforce says most products use annual contracts, so cancelling usually means not renewing.
  2. Give notice before renewal. Tell Salesforce in writing, through your account executive or billing contact, that you will not renew, within the notice period your contract sets.
  3. Export your data. Use Salesforce’s export tools to download records and attachments before the subscription ends.
  4. Free Suite. There is no contract; it stays free only if someone logs in at least every 60 days.
  5. Watch the next invoice. Keep your notice and any reply in case you are billed after the end date.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best alternative to Salesforce?

For most small teams, HubSpot is the easiest switch because its free CRM has no time limit and Starter is $20 a seat. Zoho CRM is the lowest-cost option for a growing team at $14 a user billed yearly, and Microsoft Dynamics 365 Sales is the closest enterprise replacement.

Is there a free alternative to Salesforce?

Yes. HubSpot's free CRM covers 2 users and 1,000 contacts, Zoho CRM is free for 3 users and Capsule is free for 2 users and 250 contacts. Salesforce's own Free Suite is also free for 2 users.

How do I cancel Salesforce?

Check your order form for the renewal date and notice period, then tell Salesforce in writing, through your account executive or billing contact, that you will not renew. Most Salesforce products use annual contracts, so cancellation usually takes effect at the end of the term. Export your data first.

Which CRM is cheapest compared with Salesforce?

Among paid plans, monday CRM Basic lists at $12 a seat billed yearly (3-seat minimum), Nutshell Foundation at $13 a user billed yearly ($19 monthly), and Zoho CRM Standard and Pipedrive Lite at $14 billed yearly, compared with $25 for Salesforce Starter Suite.

Is HubSpot cheaper than Salesforce?

At the entry level, yes: HubSpot Sales Hub Starter starts at $20 a seat and Salesforce Starter Suite at $25 a user a month. At higher tiers, HubSpot Professional starts at $100 a seat plus a required $1,500 onboarding fee, so compare full quotes.

Can I move my Salesforce data to another CRM?

Yes. Export your records from Salesforce, then use the new CRM's import tool or migration service. Test with a sample of accounts, contacts and open deals during the free trial before moving everything.

Why is Salesforce so expensive?

Salesforce prices by user and edition, from $25 a user on Starter Suite to $550 on Sales Cloud Max, and charges extra for add-ons such as AI and Premier Success support. Many companies also pay an admin or consultant to set it up.
