Quick verdict

Both are easy CRMs for small teams, so the choice comes down to scope. Pipedrive is a sales pipeline tool: plans run $14 to $79 a seat a month billed annually, its Growth plan at $39 adds email sync, automations and forecasts, and there is no onboarding fee. HubSpot starts free for 2 users and its Sales Hub Starter is $20 a seat a month, but its Professional plan jumps to $100 a seat plus a required $1,500 onboarding fee. Small sales teams that live in a deal pipeline usually get more for less on Pipedrive, while teams that also want marketing, forms and a free starting point are better served by HubSpot.

Pricing: which costs less?

Pipedrive’s U.S. plans, as listed in September 2026, are Lite ($14 a seat a month billed annually, $24 monthly), Growth ($39 annually, $49 monthly), Premium ($59, $79) and Ultimate ($79, $99). There is a 14 day free trial and no free plan. Add-ons cost extra: Campaigns from $13.33, Projects from $16, LeadBooster or Smart Docs from $32.50 and Web Visitors from $41 a month.

HubSpot’s Sales Hub is priced per seat. Its product and services catalog lists Starter from $20 a seat a month, Professional from $100 a seat a month with a required one-time onboarding fee of $1,500, and Enterprise from $150 a seat a month, billed annually, with a required $3,500 onboarding fee. On October 12, 2026 HubSpot’s product page also showed Starter at $10 a seat a month as a limited-time discount for new customers. The free CRM covers up to 2 users and 1,000 contacts with no expiration date.

For a 5 person team that wants automations and email sequences, Pipedrive Growth costs about $2,340 a year billed annually. HubSpot Sales Hub Professional for the same team lists at about $6,000 a year, plus $1,500 for onboarding in year one. At the entry level the gap is smaller, and HubSpot’s free CRM is cheaper than anything Pipedrive sells.

Pipedrive’s terms say all fees are non-refundable and plans auto-renew, so trim seats and cancel before your renewal date if you are leaving.

Ease of use and focus

Both are known as easy CRMs for small teams, but they are easy in different ways.

Pipedrive is built around one screen: a visual pipeline of deals that reps drag from stage to stage. It is designed to push salespeople toward the next activity on each deal, and most teams can set it up without help. There are fewer modules to learn because it does not try to run your marketing or support.

HubSpot is easy to start because the free CRM works in the browser with templates and guides, and the same contact record follows a lead from a marketing email to a closed deal to a support ticket. The tradeoff is that HubSpot is a bigger product. As you add Marketing Hub or Service Hub, there is more to configure, which is part of why HubSpot requires a paid onboarding package on Professional and Enterprise plans.

If your team’s day is mostly calls, emails and moving deals forward, Pipedrive’s narrower focus is a strength. If you also need landing pages, forms, email marketing and support tickets in one place, HubSpot saves you from stitching several tools together.

Features, automation and AI

On Pipedrive, the Lite plan covers lead, deal and pipeline management, AI report building and access to 500+ integrations. Growth adds full email sync and tracking, automations and sequences, forecasts and a meeting scheduler. Premium adds LeadBooster lead capture, lead scoring, shared inboxes and contracts with e-signatures. Ultimate adds security rules, phone and email enrichment, a sandbox account and extended phone support.

HubSpot’s free CRM already includes contact management, deal pipelines, email tracking and templates, a meeting scheduler, live chat, payment links, a reporting dashboard and the Breeze Assistant AI. Paid Sales Hub plans add sequences and automated outreach (Starter), prospecting tools and call recording (Professional), and custom objects and advanced analytics (Enterprise). The HubSpot Marketplace lists more than 2,000 apps against Pipedrive’s 500+.

The feature that most often decides this comparison is automation. On Pipedrive you get workflow automations and email sequences at $39 a seat on Growth. On HubSpot, Starter covers basic automated outreach, but fuller sales automation and workflows sit in Professional at $100 a seat plus onboarding. If automation is the main thing you need, price that tier on both before you choose.

Which teams each one fits

Pipedrive fits small and midsize sales teams that sell through a clear set of deal stages, such as agencies and B2B service firms. It works well when marketing is handled in a separate tool or not at all. Its reviews are strong, at 4.4 out of 5 on Trustpilot from 3,462 reviews when we checked, with most complaints about billing and renewals rather than the product.

HubSpot fits companies that want one system for attracting leads and selling to them, and those that want to start free. A founder or a two person team can run on the free CRM for a long time. It also grows further: Enterprise adds custom objects and advanced analytics that Pipedrive does not try to match, and the same database can run marketing and customer service.

Watch the jump in cost as you grow. Pipedrive’s price rises gradually from $14 to $79 a seat. HubSpot’s rises from free to $20 a seat, then to $100 plus a $1,500 onboarding fee at Professional. If you expect to need Professional features within a year, compare the two over that full year, not just the first month.
