Hers weight loss legitimacy and licensing
Yes, Hers is a real company. It’s the women’s brand of Hims & Hers Health, Inc., which trades on the New York Stock Exchange and files reports with the SEC. Licensed providers in affiliated medical groups review your intake and write prescriptions, and partner pharmacies ship the medication.
It also carries real risk flags. The FDA sent the company a warning letter, addressed to it doing business as Hers, on September 9, 2025 over how its sites described compounded semaglutide. In February 2026, HHS referred the company to the Department of Justice and the SEC opened an investigation. On July 29, 2026 the FTC, Utah and Los Angeles County sued Hims & Hers in federal court, alleging charges soon after intake, hard cancellations and sharing health data with ad platforms. The company denies the claims and none has been proven. The BBB still lists it as accredited but now shows no rating.

You pay two bills. The Hers Weight Loss Membership is $39 for the first month and renews at $149 a month. Medication, if prescribed, is billed separately: the Wegovy, Ozempic and Foundayo pills start at $149 a month, the Wegovy pen and Ozempic start at $199, and Zepbound vials and KwikPens start at $299. Some listings show Mounjaro and Zepbound at $1,899 a month, so confirm which product and price you’re getting.

Does Hers still sell compounded semaglutide?
Mostly no. Hims & Hers built its weight loss business on compounded semaglutide, then moved its U.S. program to brand-name GLP-1s in March 2026. Its August 2026 quarterly report says it still offers compounded GLP-1s only on a limited scale. Novo Nordisk sued the company over a semaglutide patent on February 9, 2026 and voluntarily dismissed the case on March 9, 2026, keeping the right to refile.
Wegovy, Zepbound and Foundayo are FDA approved for weight loss. Ozempic and Mounjaro are approved for type 2 diabetes, and Hers says they’re prescribed only to people who meet clinical criteria. Compounded drugs aren’t FDA approved. Ask which one you’re being prescribed before you pay.

Canceling Hers and getting a refund
Hers runs on the same terms as Hims. You can cancel in your account, through the help center or by phone. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period. Under the terms last updated August 31, 2026, the first month of the weight loss membership isn’t refundable, shipped medication can’t be refunded, and refunds for partly used periods are at the company’s discretion. Most disputes go to binding arbitration unless you opt out within the time the terms allow.
Safety and when to see your own doctor
GLP-1 medicines can cause nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and other side effects, and they aren’t right for everyone, including people with certain thyroid cancer histories or who are pregnant. Hers says stopping treatment may lead to weight regain. Share your full history in the intake, and see your own doctor or go to urgent care for severe stomach pain, signs of dehydration or an allergic reaction. An online visit isn’t a substitute for regular in-person care.
