Justice Consumer Law (JCL), step by step

  1. Free case review

Call (855) 374-3446 or use the online form. JCL says an attorney reviews your situation in about 15 minutes at no charge.

  2. Sign a written fee agreement

If JCL takes the case, read the contingency percentage, how costs are handled and what happens if you settle or drop the case.

  3. Evidence and filing

The firm gathers records, sends demands, and files an EEOC charge or a federal lawsuit, depending on your claim.

  4. Settlement or trial

Most consumer and employment cases settle. You approve any settlement before it's final.

  5. Payment

JCL says its fees come from the other side when it wins and you owe nothing if it loses. Confirm this in writing for your type of case.

Justice Consumer Law legitimacy and licensing

Yes. Justice Consumer Law is an active law firm at 15255 S 94th Ave, Suite 500, Orland Park, Illinois, led by attorney Marwan R. Daher. Federal court records on CourtListener list about 200 cases naming Daher, including debt collection, robocall, credit reporting and job discrimination suits filed in 2024 and 2025. His firm bio lists admission in federal district courts in Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Wisconsin, Ohio, Texas, Colorado and Arizona.

A few things to check. We couldn’t confirm Daher’s Illinois license on the ARDC lawyer search, which didn’t return results through our tools, so look him up yourself at iardc.org before you sign. The firm has no BBB profile. And Daher previously led Guards Law, a debt collection firm at the same address whose website now redirects to Google.

What cases JCL handles

Consumer: debt collector harassment under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, credit report errors under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, robocalls under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, debt relief and credit repair scams, and Illinois Consumer Fraud Act claims.

Employment: discrimination under Title VII, disability accommodation under the ADA, retaliation, unpaid wages and overtime under the Fair Labor Standards Act, sexual harassment, severance agreement review, wrongful termination and EEOC charges.

Justice Consumer Law cost

JCL says the consultation is free, there’s no hourly rate or retainer, and you owe nothing if it doesn’t win. It also says that when it wins, the other side pays its legal fees. Many consumer laws, such as the FDCPA and FCRA, and some employment laws do let a winning plaintiff recover attorney fees, but not every claim or settlement works that way.

JCL doesn’t publish a contingency percentage. Ask for the written agreement and check what share of a settlement goes to the firm, who pays court costs, and whether fees come out of your recovery if the other side doesn’t pay them separately.

Deadlines that matter

Employment discrimination claims usually require an EEOC charge within 180 days of what happened, or 300 days if your state has its own fair employment agency. FDCPA lawsuits generally must be filed within one year of the violation. Unpaid wage claims under the FLSA generally have a two-year limit, or three years for willful violations. Talk to a lawyer early so a deadline doesn’t end your claim.

Rules that protect you when you hire a lawyer

Lawyers must be licensed by a state bar, and contingency fee agreements generally must be in writing and explain how the fee is calculated. You decide whether to accept any settlement. If you have a problem with a lawyer, you can file a complaint with the state disciplinary agency, which in Illinois is the Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission. No lawyer can promise you’ll win or name a settlement amount in advance.

Can you sue a debt collector for calling too much?

Possibly. Under the CFPB’s Regulation F, a debt collector is presumed to violate the FDCPA if it calls you more than seven times in seven days about a debt, or within seven days after a phone conversation about it. The FDCPA allows you to recover actual damages, up to $1,000 in statutory damages, and attorney fees. Keep a call log and any voicemails and letters before you contact a lawyer.
