You pay for the first delivery when you sign up. Cooked meals arrive frozen and pre-portioned.

The plan renews weekly, every two weeks or monthly. Your card is charged about 4 to 5 days before each delivery, after an email reminder.

PetPlate legitimacy and licensing
Yes. PetPlate is a real dog food subscription based in New York (BBB lists PetPlate, Inc. at 29 W 38th Street). Its founder, Renaldo Webb, started it to cook for his own dog, and it says recipes were developed with Dr. Renee Streeter, a board-certified veterinary nutritionist. Its terms, effective November 21, 2025, name ACE II LLC as the company that runs petplate.com.
We found no FDA recalls for PetPlate. Its BBB profile shows an A+ rating, no accreditation and two complaints in three years. Trustpilot has only 58 reviews, nine of them in the past year.

PetPlate’s home page lists these starting prices after its intro discount: FreshCooked Full Plan from $1.89 a day, FreshCombo from $1.40, FreshBaked from $0.79 and FreshCooked Toppers from $0.71. Those are the lowest prices for small dogs. Your real price, for your dog’s weight and after the intro discount ends, appears only after the quiz.
To compare fairly, take the quiz at two or three brands using the same dog details and compare the regular, not introductory, price per day.
What's in PetPlate food
FreshCooked entrees include Barkin’ Beef, Chompin’ Chicken, Tail Waggin’ Turkey, Lip Lickin’ Lamb and Lean & Mean Venison. Barkin’ Beef lists beef, sweet potatoes, potatoes, beef liver, peas, carrots and apples, plus vitamins, minerals and taurine, at 41 kcal per ounce. It is formulated to meet AAFCO. Association of American Feed Control Officials, which publishes the nutrient profiles and Feeding trial. An AAFCO protocol in which animals eat the food to show that it is complete and balanced. Barkin’ Beef contains peas and potatoes. FDA has investigated a possible link between some diets with these ingredients and canine dilated cardiomyopathy without reaching a conclusion; ask your vet if this concerns you. We make no claims that fresh food improves health.

How to cancel PetPlate
Pause or cancel in your account at petplate.com/login or by emailing [email protected]. Timing matters: your card is charged about 4 to 5 days before each delivery, and PetPlate emails you at least 24 hours before that charge. Cancel before the charge date, because the terms say amounts already charged are generally not refunded and a charged order may still ship.
For the money-back guarantee, contact PetPlate between day 7 and day 30 of feeding. It refunds your first order in that product category, minus shipping, once per category per dog. Keep the confirmation email when you cancel.

Ask your vet before switching if your dog is a puppy, a large breed, pregnant, or has kidney, liver, digestive or heart disease or food allergies. Switch gradually over about a week to avoid stomach upset, and stop and call your vet if your dog has vomiting, diarrhea or refuses food.
