Widex, step by step

  1. Find a provider

    Use Widex's shop locator to find an audiologist or hearing instrument specialist; Widex does not sell online.

  2. Hearing test and fitting

    The provider tests your hearing, recommends a style and technology level, and programs the aids to your results.

  3. Trial period

    Wear them at home, at work and in noise during the trial. Ask how long it is and whether a restocking fee applies if you return them.

  4. Follow-up adjustments

    Most bundles include follow-up visits to fine-tune the sound. You can also adjust programs in the Widex Allure or Moment app.

  5. Repairs and warranty

    Repairs and warranty claims usually go through the clinic that fitted you, so keep your receipt and serial numbers.

Widex hearing aids in 2026: Allure, Allure AI and Moment

Widex’s U.S. site lists three families: Allure (RIC (receiver in canal). A small behind-the-ear aid with the speaker placed in the ear canal on a thin wire, the style used by Audicus Omni and Ray. Compare hearing aids companies, BTE and custom ITE), Moment SmartRIC and Moment Sheer. Allure launched in March 2025 as the successor to Moment, which had been the flagship since 2020. It runs on Widex’s W1 chip, uses the Widex Allure app, and adds hands-free calls with iPhones and LE Audio phones plus Android streaming. HearingTracker lists about 25 hours per charge, or 7 hours if you stream.

On May 20, 2026, Widex announced Allure AI RIC with Clarity Boost. It keeps the normal Widex sound processing for everyday listening and adds a separate AI chip that you turn on when you need help hearing speech in noise. Widex cites its own studies (95% of wearers reported better speech in noise), which have not been independently confirmed. Ask your provider when it is available in your area and how its price compares with standard Allure.

Older models such as Evoke may still be offered by some clinics but no longer appear on Widex’s U.S. lineup page. If a provider offers an older model, ask for a lower price and check how long repairs and parts will be supported.

Widex hearing aids cost

Widex does not publish U.S. prices. HearingTracker lists Allure from about $2,798 per pair at the Standard 220 level to $4,398 per pair at the Premium 440 level (June 2026), and notes that some clinics charge more than $6,000 for the top level. The price you pay depends on the technology tier and on what the clinic bundles in, such as the hearing test, fitting, follow-up visits, cleanings and warranty length.

Get an itemized quote in writing. Ask how long the manufacturer warranty lasts, whether loss and damage cover is included and what the deductible is, and what repairs cost after the warranty ends. Many states require a trial or return period for hearing aids; ask for the length and any restocking fee before you sign.

How buying Widex hearing aids works

Widex sells only through hearing care professionals. Its U.S. site does not list prices and points you to a shop locator. Your provider tests your hearing, recommends a style (RIC, BTE or custom in-the-ear) and a technology level (220, 330 or 440 for Allure), then fits and programs the aids.

Because the clinic sets the price and handles repairs, two quotes for the same Allure 440 can differ by thousands of dollars. Ask each clinic for an itemized quote that lists the device, the fitting, the number of follow-up visits, the trial length, the warranty term and any loss and damage deductible. Aids bought from unauthorized online sellers may not be supported, so buy from a provider that can service them.

Widex as a hearing aid brand

Widex was founded in Denmark in 1956 and is now part of WS Audiology, which HearingTracker describes as the third-largest hearing aid company in the world. Its aids are FDA-regulated medical devices sold through licensed professionals. We found one FDA recall record: a 2018 Class 2 correction for some BABY440 pediatric aids fitted with a non-tamper-resistant battery drawer, closed in December 2018.

Widex USA Inc. in Hauppauge, New York, has a C- rating from the BBB and is not accredited, with 3 complaints in the last three years. Complaints on review sites mention repair turnaround, charger reliability and support staff sending people back to their clinic. Since your clinic handles fitting, repairs and warranty claims, the provider you choose matters as much as the brand.

Hearing aids are not a substitute for a medical exam. If you have sudden hearing loss, ear pain, drainage, dizziness or hearing loss in one ear only, see a doctor or audiologist before buying.

Widex complaints and how to avoid problems

Widex USA has 3 BBB complaints in three years and a C- rating. Its Trustpilot profile is unclaimed with only 8 reviews, several of them about an unrelated company, so it says little. On hearing aid forums, the recurring complaints are feedback whistling on some Moment aids, app problems, charger issues and support staff sending wearers back to their clinic. A Trustpilot reviewer also reported a dispute over repair cover outside the U.S.

To avoid the common problems: use the full trial period in the places you struggle most, book follow-up visits for fine-tuning, get the warranty and loss and damage terms in writing, and ask whether repair cover applies when you travel abroad.

Trial periods, Medicare and the rules that protect you

Widex aids are prescription hearing aids regulated by the FDA. Many states require a written trial or return period for hearing aids, and the length and any restocking fee vary by state, so ask before you sign. Original Medicare does not cover hearing aids or fitting exams, though some Medicare Advantage plans include hearing benefits.

Since October 2022, adults with perceived mild to moderate hearing loss can also buy FDA-regulated over-the-counter aids without a prescription. Widex has no OTC model. If you have sudden hearing loss, ear pain, drainage, dizziness or loss in one ear only, see a doctor first.

Who should look elsewhere

Widex is a poor fit if you want to buy online and set up the aids yourself, if your budget is under about $2,000 a pair, or if no Widex provider is close enough for follow-up visits. If you are waiting for the best speech-in-noise features, it may make sense to trial Allure AI once it reaches U.S. clinics, expected in November 2026, and compare it with Oticon Intent or Phonak.
