Verizon's new Simplicity Plan replaces its tiered menu with one unlimited plan at $45 a line with AutoPay ($55 without), or $30 a line for switchers, with 5G Ultra Wideband, 10 GB of hotspot and Mexico and Canada use included. Verizon's network still scores well, but its customer satisfaction trails T-Mobile in J.D. Power's 2026 study and its BBB profile shows more than 38,000 complaints in three years. Simplicity is easy to understand for one or two lines; larger families should price myPlan and Verizon-network prepaid brands like Visible before committing.

Bring or buy a phone
Bring your own device, buy outright, or finance over 12 to 48 months. Moving to Simplicity can end an existing device promotion, so check before switching.
Turn on AutoPay within 30 days
The $45 price depends on AutoPay and paper-free billing set up within 30 days; otherwise each line is $55.
Add perks if you want them
Streaming, hotspot, cloud and travel perks or bundles add to the monthly bill. Each line can choose its own.
Opt in to Verizon Loyalty
Opting in through the My Verizon app removes activation and upgrade fees and earns Verizon Dollars.
Verizon Simplicity Plan explained
On June 16, 2026, Verizon launched the Simplicity Plan and made it the headline plan on its site. It is a single unlimited plan with no network tiers: every line gets unlimited 4G, 5G and 5G Ultra Wideband data, 10 GB of hotspot, Call Filter, Mexico and Canada talk, text and data, satellite texting and the Verizon Family app.
The price is $45 a month per line with AutoPay and paper-free billing, or $55 without, plus taxes and fees. Customers switching from another carrier can get $30 a line with the $15 Switch & Save Discount, and a $15 Bring a Number Discount is also offered. The same rate applies to each line, for up to 12 lines.
How much Verizon costs per month
On Simplicity, multiply $45 by your number of lines: $90 for two, $135 for three, $180 for four, before taxes and fees. Perks such as Disney+, Hulu and ESPN+, Netflix and HBO Max, YouTube Premium, Apple One or unlimited hotspot cost extra per line, and bundles combine several at a discount.
myPlan, Verizon’s earlier lineup (Unlimited Welcome, Unlimited Plus and Unlimited Ultimate), is still sold and prices by tier and number of lines, with multi-line promotions that can beat Simplicity for families. In October 2026 Verizon advertised four new myPlan lines on Unlimited Welcome at $27.50 a line with AutoPay, using promo credits spread over 36 months. Read the promo terms, since credits stop if you change plans or leave.
Verizon value for the price
Verizon is one of the three national carriers, and its network is the main reason people pay its prices. On customer satisfaction, though, J.D. Power’s 2026 Wireless Carrier Satisfaction study scored Verizon 606 for postpaid, behind T-Mobile at 636 and ahead of AT&T at 596.
Price is the other question. Visible, owned by Verizon and running on its network, costs $25 a month with taxes included, and scored 708 in the same satisfaction study. If you do not need in-store help, device deals or perks, a Verizon-network prepaid brand often costs much less.

Complaints and how to avoid billing surprises
The BBB lists 38,773 complaints against Verizon Wireless in the last three years, and Trustpilot reviews are 83% one star. Most involve billing, promotions that did not apply as expected, and support that takes a long time to reach.
- Get the total monthly price, with taxes and fees, in writing or in your cart before you order.
- Set up AutoPay and paper-free billing within 30 days or lose $10 a line.
- Before moving to Simplicity, check whether you have a discounted device payment; Verizon says that discount ends if you switch.
- Screenshot promo terms, since credits often run over 36 months and end if eligibility lapses.
- If Verizon does not fix a problem, file with the FCC’s Consumer Complaint Center.
Verizon's FCC location data fine
In April 2024 the FCC fined Verizon $46.9 million for sharing customers’ real-time location data with third-party aggregators without proper safeguards or consent. A federal appeals court upheld the fine in September 2025, and on August 17, 2026 the Supreme Court denied Verizon’s request for rehearing, leaving the penalty in place. Verizon had paid the fine under protest. You can review and limit how Verizon uses your data in the privacy settings of your My Verizon account.
Switching plans, cancelling and device payments
Simplicity is a month-to-month plan with no service contract, but phones bought on a device payment plan must be paid off if you leave. If you switch an existing account to Simplicity, every line on the account must move, and connected devices need a Simplicity-compatible plan. Verizon warns that if you later go back to an older plan, Simplicity promotions and guarantees end and some discounts may not return.
