Xfinity Internet is required. Prices include a $10 a month internet customer discount and exclude taxes and fees. The first-year offer requires residential post-pay internet of 300 Mbps or more and is limited to the value of one Select line. International high-speed data is 10 GB a month, then up to 14 Mbps.

  1. Have or add Xfinity Internet

    Mobile service is only sold to Xfinity Internet customers, and the free-year offer needs 300 Mbps or faster post-pay internet.

  2. Check coverage and your phone

    Service runs on Verizon's network; bring an unlocked compatible phone or buy one on a device payment plan.

  3. Pick Select or Plus

    Select is $30 a line with 50 GB of priority data; Plus is $45 with no slowdown, device protection and upgrades.

  4. Port your number

    Keep your old carrier account open until the number transfer finishes, then cancel it.

  5. Cancel or switch

    There is no term contract, but any financed phone balance stays due and canceling Xfinity Internet affects your mobile pricing and eligibility.

Xfinity Mobile legitimacy and licensing

Yes. Xfinity Mobile is Comcast’s wireless service, and Comcast reported 10.2 million wireless lines after the second quarter of 2026, its best quarter on record. Comcast’s annual report says the service runs on Verizon’s wireless network under an MVNO agreement, plus Comcast’s own WiFi hotspots, so coverage generally matches Verizon’s.

The questions are fit and service. You need Xfinity Internet, and Comcast’s BBB profile lists 26,477 complaints in three years across all its services, with billing and promotions near the top.

Xfinity Mobile plans and pricing explained

Since April 22, 2026, Xfinity Mobile sells two phone plans. Mobile Select is $30 a line with unlimited talk, text and data, 50 GB of priority data, 15 GB of 5G hotspot data and 720p video. Mobile Plus is $45 a line with data that is not deprioritized, 50 GB of 5G hotspot data, 4K video, lifetime device protection, yearly phone upgrades and spam call blocking. The price per line stays the same from one to 12 lines.

Both prices include a $10 a month internet customer discount, and taxes and fees are extra. New Xfinity Mobile members with 300 Mbps or faster post-pay internet can get Mobile Select free for 12 months or Mobile Plus for $15 a month for the first year, applied as bill credits worth one Select line.

What changed in 2026

Comcast replaced its older Unlimited plans with Mobile Select and Mobile Plus on April 22, 2026, dropping multi-line discounts in favor of one price per line. By the Gig, the shared-data plan, is now only available to customers who joined before that date; existing By the Gig customers keep it, but if they move to the new pricing their By the Gig lines must switch to Select or Plus. Existing customers can change plans in the Xfinity app.

Xfinity Mobile complaints and how to avoid problems

Mobile complaints on the BBB and Trustpilot center on promotional credits and trade-in offers not applied as promised, defective phones or watches that are hard to return, unexpected charges, and long waits to reach a person. Comcast’s overall Trustpilot score is 1.2 out of 5.

Save screenshots of the offer terms before you order, check your first two bills line by line, and keep return shipping receipts. If billing errors are not fixed, you can file an informal complaint with the FCC, which forwards it to the carrier for a response.

Canceling Xfinity Mobile

Xfinity Mobile has no term contracts, so you can cancel at any time. If you financed a phone, the remaining device balance is still owed under your payment plan, and any promotional credits stop. Port your number to the new carrier before you close the account. Because pricing includes an internet customer discount and Xfinity Internet is required to sign up, check with Comcast how your mobile price changes before you cancel internet.

Who should skip Xfinity Mobile

Look elsewhere if you do not have Xfinity Internet, plan to move out of Comcast’s area, or want a phone plan with taxes included. Heavy hotspot users on Mobile Select will hit 3G speeds after 15 GB. If Verizon coverage is weak where you live, a carrier on another network will serve you better.
